1. Measuring the bed width:
When measuring your bed for a headboard, sizing terms like ‘Single’ and ‘Queen’ are not always precise. We recommend taking your own measurements – measure your bed width across the base rather than the mattress.

2. Choosing the right headboard:
Width
Our range of headboards are currently available for Queen (W:152cm | L:188cm) size beds. The width of our headboards is 170cm.
Height
Our headboards have a standard height of 70cm (60cm visible). Up to 10cm of the overall height of our headboard will be set below the top of the mattress.
Wall mounted
Wall fixing is the recommended option for large headboards (bottom of headboard at 10cm below the top of mattress), as it’s simple and secure. We supply our headboards with a batten for fixing to the wall.

What colours should you choose?
If you’ve already decided on the theme of your bedroom, choosing the right colour headboard can feel a little daunting. Not to worry, here are some ways to help you decide what colours will work for your unique style.
Warm tones for a classic look: Is your bedroom full of warm tones – reds, yellows, or oranges? Adding a dark brown or chocolate headboard to your bed can create an earthy look and provide a little contrast to the otherwise calm styling of the rest of the space.
Cute and stylish: If you’re going for a neutral theme to your bedroom with white walls and simple décor, then a white or cream-coloured headboard is a great way to keep your room simple, yet stylish and cute at the same time.
Modern and contemporary: Does your bedroom have plain white or light-coloured walls? Try adding a plain dark or white headboard, paired with black and white striped bedding and some wall décor to create a modern, contemporary look.
Rustic feel: The rustic look is a classic – we’re in Africa after all! An excellent way to achieve this look in your bedroom is our faux hide headboard, paired with white bedding, and curtains hanging from a dark mahogany wooden pole.
Elegant and luxurious: It has to be a velvet headboard! We offer velvet headboards in a variety of styles to complement the elegant décor you’ve chosen for your bedroom.
