Curtain tracks are a little bit more functional – as they’re discreet and designed to blend with a wall or to fit behind decorative elements. That’s not to say they can’t be pretty though, as you can add pelmets that clip onto the curtain track to make them decorative.
They are easy to install and operate, offering smooth and effortless opening and closing of your curtains.
Curtain Tracks are suited to most curtain types, and you can opt for a double curtain track which allows for layering of curtains which helps to block out light but also provides a nice premium look.
Steel Curtain Tracks are durable, long lasting and a very affordable solution for a window covering
Our Steel Track range now also includes a new Metallic Grey option, a contemporary alternative to the more traditional white curtain tracks, providing a more sleek, subtle look that can blend in nicely with most styles.
We also offer a range of Double Curtain Track made from Strong, rust-resistant Aluminium that is ideal for heavy curtains. This track comes with advanced wheel runners for easy, quiet gliding of heavy curtains.
All of our tracks are sold as an All in One DIY Solution, with Brackets, glides, and end caps included for easy installation.
If you like the benefits of the Curtain Track but want to add a bit of decorative flair, we also offer a range of track that includes a pelmet that clips on to the front of the track, concealing the more functional look of the track and creating a contemporary finish to your curtains in the same way a curtain rod would. If you are looking for a more contemporary feel, steel or metal poles are a great option. They offer a sophisticated look with a range of different accessory options.
We offer a wide range of steel poles in a variety of sizes and styles, including our contemporary black Steel pole range and brushed steel options, with an extensive selection of matching finials, brackets, and accessories to finish the look.
For a more traditional, natural look, wooden Poles are a great option. Our range of wooden poles are all made from solid wood and are finger-jointed for extra strength. Bring nature in with natural wooden rod options.
Select a diameter based on how prominent you would like the rod to be. Larger diameters complement tall windows, while more delicate fabrics often suit smaller diameters. If you use eyelet curtains, choose a diameter to fit into the eyelets.
Also consider the look you want to create in the room. For example, modern, classic, minimalistic, or bold. Secondly, the rod you select should be suitable for the type of curtains you want to use. Thick, heavy curtains, for example, will require a pole diameter that can support the weight of the heavier material.
For smaller windows, a thinner pole is ideal for framing without overpowering the space. For larger windows and heavier curtains, a thicker diameter pole is ideal.
When looking to install curtain rods or track, you should allow for an additional 10cm – 20cm on each side of the window frame to ensure full coverage and to leave some space on each side of the window for the curtains to hang when pulled open to the sides.
For larger windows and thick curtains, it is best to go for a thicker rod or more reinforced, double curtain track such as the Aluminium track.
For smaller windows and a subtle look, we advise a thinner diameter rod or a single track.

We also offer a range of Double Curtain Rod Sets to achieve the same effect and look.
Both are suitable options for layering curtains.
Layering up curtains adds a stylish look to a room and is easy to achieve with a double curtain track system – these have two channels to accommodate two layers of curtains. We have both double rod sets AND double curtain track that gives your home a glamorous look and provides a greater array of options when it comes to privacy and how you filter light!
Wood and steel both have their merits. With wood, you get a warm, classic aesthetic that adds an extra warm feel to your home’s interior. Steel offers a clean, modern look and is durable and consistent over time. Both wooden and steel curtain rods and tracks come in a wide variety of finishes to add a touch of class to your home.
To blend your curtain rods into the overall look of your space, choose ones that match the colour of your drapery, or the ceiling of the room. Blending colours together can deliver a polished and clean look, and even make your space appear bigger, e.g. pairing white rods with white sheer curtains creates a light, airy effect. And then, if you’re not necessarily looking to match your curtain rods or tracks to the room then there’s still hope. Black is wonderfully contemporary and pairs really well with brushed steel to add depth and character to any space. If your space has lots of light wood finishes, then pairing that with a darker wood rod can create an interesting contrast.
If you want your curtain rods to make a statement, choose ones that will pick up the darker tones in the room, e.g. if you have a mahogany headboard in your bedroom, investing in sleek dark wood curtain rods will emphasise the dark hue, creating contrast, and a timeless look.
